Hello!

I was honored to be elected via write-in candidacy as Council Member at Large for the City of Norton Shores to fulfill the remainder of a partially-vacated term expiring at the end of 2025. Now with experience and receipts, I am seeking re-election to a full 4-year term as Council Member at Large.

About Eli

Elizabeth Fox, known to friends and neighbors as Eli (eh-LEE), is a Michigander through and through. She comes from both European settler immigrant grandparents, and also Native American grandparents of Chippewa and Métis traditions. A descendant of the Sault Tribe of Chippewa Indians, she was born and raised in the lower peninsula on the west Michigan lakeshore.

At work, Eli uses best practices as a coder and data analyst to support Michigan-based nonprofits rooted in community power-building as Data & Systems Director for BOOM LLC. Prior to joining and growing the BOOM start-up, she worked for 13 years at Muskegon Community College. She earned degrees from the University of Michigan (BA) and Western Michigan University (MA).

Eli lives with her partner, Kal, their three young-adult children, and a couple of wily dogs in the Norton Hills neighborhood of Norton Shores. She is proud to be the first openly gay official elected to the Norton Shores City Council. Her favorite thing is a walk in our neighborhood coastline trails during every season of the year.
